Shuffle & Bounce Bass: Two Months of Groove That Bounces

For those who finished bass fundamentals and now want grooves that bounce and swing beyond straight time

This 2-month track takes someone who finished bass fundamentals past straight time into shuffle and bounce. The whole idea is one thing — a beat isn't a grid, it's a triangle. Roll your eighth notes long-short (da-ga) instead of evenly, and the groove starts to bounce. You learn 4- and 5-string together.

Month 1 feels the triplet (the triangle) and builds a shuffle bassline with a boogie walk (R-5-6-b7), driving a full 12-bar shuffle blues. Month 2 adds swing-16, ghosts, and laid-back feel to record a sticky bounce groove that smells of neo-soul and hip-hop.

50 minutes a day, and each ends with one groove you can check against a metronome. The goal isn't precision — it's a rolling sense of timing. Two months in, you'll move freely between shuffle and bounce with a groove that makes your body sway on its own.
